NEW DELHI: The newly-formed BJP government in Delhi has annuled 177 political appointments of chairpersons and vice-chairpersons across various boards, corporations and commissions in the capital.
These appointments were made during the tenure of the previous Aam Aadmi Party government.

The Services Department issued an order confirming that all such political appointments have been canceled.
Earlier in February, the Delhi government had also terminated all co-terminus appointments made in the offices of the former Chief Minister and cabinet ministers.
Rekha Gupta of the BJP was sworn in as Delhi’s Chief Minister in February, this year during a grand ceremony at Ramlila Maidan after the saffron party defeated AAP in the assembly elections.
