Aayam recently presented Sandeh – Nihsandeh, a Bharatanatyam solo by Isha Aggarwal, at Triveni Kala Sangam, Mandi House. The performance, guided by Guru Smt. Sindhu Mishra, explored themes of faith, doubt, and the journey toward self-understanding through stories from the Ramcharitmanas.
Blending mythology with classical philosophy, the production focused on the emotional and spiritual shifts that occur when moving from uncertainty to belief. Isha Aggarwal portrayed these changes with clarity and control, highlighting the inner questions that many continue to face.
The dance followed the traditional Bharatanatyam style and was supported by live music rooted in both Carnatic and Hindustani traditions. The musicians added depth to the performance, helping to carry the audience through different moods and moments.
Speaking after the show, Guru Sindhu Mishra said, “Sandeh – Nihsandeh is not only a performance, but also a way to encourage reflection. Through dance and music, we try to open a space for quiet thought about our personal connections with the divine.”
The audience appreciated the performance for its honesty and discipline. Many noted Isha Aggarwal’s skill in abhinaya (expression) and her strong presence on stage. Her performance was seen as a meaningful step forward in her journey as a classical dancer.
Rooted in the themes of the Ramcharitmanas, Sandeh – Nihsandeh offered viewers a chance to pause and reflect on the role of faith in their own lives. The evening ended with warm applause and thoughtful conversation.
