New Delhi: The admission process for postgraduate (PG) programmes at Delhi University for the 2025–26 academic session remains stalled due to delays in the release of CUET-PG results, leaving thousands of aspirants anxious and uncertain about their academic future.
While the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the provisional answer key for CUET-PG in the third week of April—raising hopes for an imminent announcement—the final results are yet to be declared. In contrast, last year, PG admissions at Delhi University had begun by April 25.
Delhi University officials confirmed that preparations for the admission process are complete. “Over 13,000 seats across 82 PG programmes will be filled based on CUET-PG scores. The university expected the results to be declared by the end of April so that the admission process could begin in the first week of May,” said an official. Since 2023, DU’s PG admissions have been conducted solely through CUET scores.
The uncertainty has sparked frustration among students, many of whom have taken to social media to voice their concerns. “The JEE Main 2025 results were declared promptly—so why are we still waiting?” asked one aspirant. “It feels like students from humanities and social sciences are being sidelined.”
Beyond frustration, students say the delay is impacting their academic timelines. Central, state, deemed, and private universities across India are seeing disrupted admission schedules. “I’m worried I might miss deadlines for other universities. Everything feels uncertain right now,” said Avinash, a psychology applicant. Another student added, “I’ve lined up applications for scholarships and other programmes, but everything is on hold. This is mentally exhausting.”
Social media platforms have become a space for students to vent, with many tagging the NTA and ministry of education, demanding transparency and timely communication. “We’re not asking for special treatment—just timely updates and respect for our future,” wrote one user.
The CUET-PG 2025 examination was conducted between March 13 and April 1, with approximately 4.2 lakh candidates appearing for the test. The exam is the gateway to postgraduate and professional programmes at over 190 participating universities across India.
