
New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday appointed nine BJP and two AAP MLAs as chairpersons of the district development committees. According to an order issued by Additional Chief Secretary (General Administration Department) Navin Kumar Choudhary, the CM exercised her powers to make the appointments.According to the list, Rithala MLA was appointed to the district development committee of the Northwest district, while Ghonda legislator Ajay Kumar Mahawar was nominated to the panel of the Northeast district. Similarly, Gajendra Singh Yadav of Mehrauli was appointed to the committee of the South district, Pawan Sharma of Uttam Nagar to the South West district, and Manoj Kumar Shokeen of Nangloi Jat to the West district development committee.Adarsh Nagar MLA Raj Kumar Bhatia was appointed as the chairperson of the North district development committee, Greater Kailash legislator Shikha Roy to New Delhi, and Jitendra Mahajan of Rohtas Nagar to the development committee of the Shahdara district.The two AAP MLAs given the responsibility include Sanjeev Jha of Burari, who was appointed to the Central district, and Ram Singh Netaji of Badarpur, who was assigned to the South East district.According to officials, these committees are intended to encourage decentralisation in decision-making and provide a responsive and responsible administration. These panels involve elected representatives of the area, including MLAs and municipal councillors, as well as resident welfare associations, district magistrates, and district-level officers of other departments and civil bodies.
