HYDERABAD: Four members of a family were found dead in their residence at Habsiguda on Monday night. Osmania University police have registered a case of suspicious death.
Assistant commissioner of police (Osmania University division) Jagan said the deceased were a couple, Chandrasekhar and Kavita Reddy, and their two children, Sritha Reddy and Vishwanath Reddy. The couple were in their mid-40s, while their children were teenagers.
After inspecting the scene, police found that the couple had hanged themselves, while their children were lying unconscious. “It appears that the children were poisoned before the parents took their own lives,” police said. Police are probing whether financial distress led to the tragedy. Neighbours alerted the police after receiving no response from the family.
