New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday accepted the supplementary chargesheet filed by Delhi Police in an organised crime case against former MLA Naresh Balyan. The court asked for a copy of the chargesheet to be given to Balyan and other accused. The next date of hearing is May 19.
Apart from Balyan, the accused against whom the court accepted the supplementary chargesheet included Sahil, Vijay and Jyoti Prakash.
The court noted that on Feb 24, cognisance for offences under sections 3 and 4 of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act was taken. “However, in the supplementary chargesheet, Section 25 of the Arms Act, 1959 has also been invoked. Cognisance of the said offence is also taken…,” the judge said.
Special public prosecutor Akhand Pratap Singh submitted that the supplementary chargesheet had been filed under sections 3 and 4 of MCOCA and Section 25 of the Arms Act, 1959.
Earlier, on May 1, Delhi Police filed a supplementary chargesheet in the court against four people, including the former MLA Balyan, in the organised crime case. This is the second supplementary chargesheet in the case and the first one naming Balyan.
