Delhi Crime Branch Arrests Nigerian National Wanted in 2021 Riot & Attempt to Murder Case | Delhi News – The Times of India

New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Crime Branch arrested a Nigerian national, Augustine Ohe Chukwu (27) who was absconding for four years in connection with a riot and attempt to murder case registered at Mohan Garden Police Station in 2021. The accused was released on bail the same year, evaded legal proceedings since then.
On Sept 26, 2021, following the death of a Nigerian national, a mob of nearly 100 people—including 50-60 Nigerians— vandalised Mohan Garden police station, and assaulted police personnel while shouting violent slogans, DCP (crime) Aditya Gautam said.
As part of the ongoing crackdown on illegal foreign nationals involved in criminal activities, a police team acted on intelligence inputs and tracked Chukwu to Sector 8.TNN
