Delhi Police investigate fake drive linked to union ministry | Delhi News – The Times of India

New Delhi: Delhi Police registered a case following a complaint from a Union ministry about a fake recruitment drive.
A complaint was filed by ministry of rural development against a fake recruitment drive by National Rural Development & Recreation Mission (NRDRM), which claimed to be affiliated with the ministry.
The complaint, lodged with cyber police station in New Delhi district, revealed that the fake organisation created websites to deceive job seekers into paying registration fees. According to the complaint, the websites featured pictures of a minister and senior officials to create an appearance of authenticity. The Union ministry confirmed that no such organisation existed under its authority and no recruitment activities were sanctioned.
A ministry official requested police to register a case and investigate the matter urgently. A public notice was also issued through Press Information Bureau, cautioning public against the fake recruitment drive.
The case was filed under sections 318(4) (cheating) and 319(2) (cheating by personation) of BNS.
