Delhi speaker urges for measures in DDA sports complexes for those with special needs | Delhi News – The Times of India

New Delhi: Delhi Legislative Assembly speaker Vijender Gupta has written to lieutenant governor VK Saxena, urging the implementation of accessibility measures across all DDA sports complexes for children and youth with special needs.
In the letter, Gupta said that the absence of inclusive infrastructure in these complexes not only restricted the potential of people with special needs but also discouraged their participation in sports.
Gupta proposed that time slots should be reserved in all DDA sports complexes for people with special needs and trained instructors must be deployed to support their unique training requirements.
He said that this initiative would cultivate a supportive and inclusive sporting environment and prepare the young athletes to represent India at international competitions.
