DUSU announces navratri scholarships for outstanding female students | Delhi News – The Times of India

New Delhi: Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) announced a series of scholarships during the Navratri week to honour outstanding female students who excelled in various fields. A total scholarship fund of ₹99,000 will be distributed, with ₹11,000 awarded to a deserving female student each day throughout the Navratri festival.
This initiative reflects DUSU’s dedication to empowering women and fostering academic excellence. The scholarships will be granted to female students who demonstrated exceptional achievements and made significant contributions in areas such as academics, sports, NCC, dance, singing, debate, literary writing, painting, and for specially-abled students.
The selection process will consider the students’ academic performance, leadership potential, and overall talent. Hundreds of students already applied for this scholarship.
A DUSU member expressed pride in being able to recognise and celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of female students during the auspicious Navratri festival. “These scholarships are a testament to our commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and academic excellence within the university community,” she said.
Students welcomed the move, saying scholarship programmes, such as the one by DUSU, were important, especially for those who come from economically weaker backgrounds.
