Financial woes drive Hyderabad couple to kill 2 kids, themselves – The Times of India

HYDERABAD: Driven to despair by financial distress, a Hyderabad-based couple killed their two children before ending their lives on Monday night.
A day after 44-year-old Chandrasekhar Reddy, his wife Kavitha and his family members were found dead at their home in the city’s Habsiguda area, initial investigation by police found Reddy had been jobless since quitting as a junior lecturer in a private college.
Police found a suicide note at their rented house in which Reddy gave a graphic account of how they had fallen on bad times. “It is suspected that the couple poisoned their son and throttled their daughter before hanging themselves,” said a police officer on Tuesday. Both the children were minors. The boy was studying in class V and the girl in class IX.
The letter has been sent for a forensic examination.
Police said the family hailed from Telangana’s Wanaparthy , and had shifted to Hyderabad in search of a livelihood, police said.
