Fire breaks out at footwear showroom in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh | Delhi News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: A fire broke out at a shoe showroom in southeast Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh area on Saturday morning, according to a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official.
The fire department received the alert at 11.17 am, following which five fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the location. Firefighters are currently working to bring the blaze under control, the official added.
No casualties have been reported so far.
Meanwhile, firefighting operations caused traffic congestion in the area, affecting commuters. Further details are awaited.
Six injured after jumping from second floor to escape fire in Delhi’s Janata Market
In a separate incident, at least six people sustained injuries after jumping from the second floor of a house in Nangloi’s Janata Market area to escape a fire, a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said on February 19, 2025.
The fire broke out at 9:45 pm on February 17, engulfing domestic items on the first and second floors of a building in Y-655, Mobile Market, Janata Market, under the Jwala Puri jurisdiction.
Three fire tenders were dispatched to the scene, and firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 11 pm. However, before their arrival, six residents trapped on the second floor had no choice but to jump to safety.
The injured have been identified as Pranjal (19), Preeti (40), Pankaj (40), Panav (18), Vaibhav (13), and Sweta (20). They were rushed to Pushpanjali Hospital for treatment.
