Former delivery agent, aide held for armed robbery | Delhi News – Times of India

New Delhi: An ex-delivery agent and his associate were arrested for robbing the delivery company’s office at gunpoint in Dwarka, allegedly to arrange money for a friend’s sister’s wedding.According to police, on April 29, three armed men barged into the company’s office in sector-19, Dwarka and held the staff at gunpoint.“They looted Rs 2 lakh in cash and fled with the DVR and other evidence,” a police officer said.Following the incident, an FIR was registered and a police team, after analysing CCTV footage, tracked down Harmeet (31) and Yogesh (30).”The accused were apprehended from Saraswati Kunj in Jharoda Kalan during a night raid. During interrogation, they confessed to the robbery and revealed that Harmeet, a former employee of the delivery company, planned the heist after losing his job. He enlisted his friend Yogesh and another associate, Gurdas, to execute the plan,” DCP (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said. “Gurdas was recently released from jail in a murder case and needed urgent money for his sister’s wedding on April 30. He reportedly arranged the firearm used in the robbery.”
