Grit, glory: Meet Delhi’s JEE Main 2025 toppers – The Times of India

New Delhi: In a fiercely competitive academic landscape, two Delhi students—Harsh Jha and Daksh Arora—have emerged as national toppers among the 24 perfect scorers in JEE Main 2025 (BE/BTech Paper 1). Their stories shine as powerful reminders that dedication, discipline, and self-belief remain the true formulas for success.
Seventeen-year-old Daksh Arora, a resident of Mukherjee Nagar, has carved a name for himself through sheer perseverance. A self-driven learner with a deep love for mathematics, Arora’s journey began in class X when he first discovered his passion for numbers and logic. “That’s when I knew I wanted to pursue science with maths in senior school,” he shares. He began focused preparation in class XI after joining coaching classes. From then on, balancing school, coaching, and self-study became a daily challenge. On regular days, Arora carefully juggles his time; on off days, he dives deep into his studies—sometimes clocking up to 10 hours.
His mother, a homemaker, and father, a businessman, quietly supported him from the sidelines. Now, as JEE Advanced approaches, Arora is aiming for IIT Delhi, with interests in mathematics and computing or computer science. When not studying, he relaxes with music or books—his go-to escapes.
Like Arora, Harsh Jha is chasing the IIT dream with equal determination. Originally from Gumla, Jharkhand, Jha moved to Delhi two years ago, driven by a focused vision. While his parents—his father, a teacher, and mother, a homemaker—remain back home with his younger brother, Jha has built a new routine near IIT Delhi, the very institute he aspires to join.
“In the beginning, I studied 4 to 6 hours daily along with coaching classes,” he says. With a natural talent for maths and physics, Harsh thrives on solving challenging problems and exploring complex ideas. Outside academics, he finds joy in simple pleasures—talking to family and friends or watching a movie.
Now, with JEE Main behind him, he’s fully focused on the upcoming JEE Advanced, steadily working toward turning his IIT dream into a reality.
On Saturday, the National Testing Agency announced the final results for JEE Main 2025 (BE/BTech Paper 1). In the April session (Session 2), 10 candidates scored a perfect 100 percentile, adding to the 14 toppers from the January session. This brings the total number of national toppers this year to 24.
