Mohanlal’s high-octane action entertainer ‘L2: Empuraan’ continues its impressive run at the box office, inching closer to the coveted Rs 100 crore milestone within just 11 days of release. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film has now amassed a total India net collection of Rs 98.35 crore, according to early estimates from the Sacnilk website.
Showing an upward trend amid controversies
After a thunderous opening of Rs 21 crore on its first day, the film saw a predictable drop on weekdays but held steady through the second weekend. On its 11th day — Sunday, April 6 — the film collected an estimated Rs 3.85 crore across all languages, showing a healthy upward trend from Saturday’s Rs 3.35 crore.
The regional breakdown continues to show the Malayalam version as the film’s strongest performer, contributing the lion’s share of collections. On Day 11, Malayalam alone contributed approximately Rs 3.55 crore, while other versions — Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi — added marginally to the tally.
The film’s overall occupancy rate on Sunday paints a promising picture, especially in Kerala. The Malayalam version recorded a 33.12% occupancy across the day, with evening shows peaking at over 41%. Tamil regions also saw moderate traction with a 26.28% occupancy, while the Hindi version witnessed lower interest, managing just 13.65% occupancy overall.
