NDMC employee among two held for taking bribe of 15k – The Times of India

New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation arrested two men, including an employee of New Delhi Municipal Council, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 to secure jobs.
The accused, Puran, a sweeper at NDMC, and his associate Binod alias Ankit, were caught by CBI sleuths after a case was registered on March 10. The complaint alleged that the suspects demanded a bribe of Rs 6 lakh (Rs 1.5 lakh per candidate) from four people, including three complainants, for appointment in the post of assistant sanitary inspectors in NDMC. The duo allegedly took Rs 50,000 as part of the bribe amount earlier and agreed to accept another Rs 50,000 as a second instalment.
The probe agency stated that the remaining amount of Rs 5 lakh was to be paid after the candidates joined the job. Both accused were caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. Searches were conducted at the residential and official premises of the accused.
