New Delhi: As the registration window for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2025 draws to a close, aspiring candidates must act swiftly, with the deadline for fee payment at 11.50pm on Sunday. After completing their registration, candidates will have a window between Monday and Wednesday to make necessary corrections to their application forms before the final submission.
The CUET, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is a critical exam for students aiming to secure admission to undergraduate programmes in a wide range of central, state and private universities across India. The CUET UG 2025 is tentatively scheduled to happen as a computer-based test (CBT) between May 8 and June 1. An official said: “The examination may be conducted in multiple shifts, depending on the number of candidates and their subject combinations. The duration of each test paper will be 60 minutes.”
The CUET UG application process is entirely online. Candidates who have completed their registration can proceed to fill out the application form, upload the required documents, pay the application fee, and submit the form. After submitting, it is essential for candidates to download the confirmation page for future reference.
The application fee varies depending on the candidate’s category: Rs 1,000 for general category candidates applying for up to three subjects, Rs 900 for OBC (non-creamy layer) and EWS candidates, Rs 800 for SC, ST, PwD, and third gender candidates, and Rs 4,500 for candidates applying from outside India. If a candidate selects more than three subjects, additional fees will be applicable.
The CUET UG 2025 will cover 37 subjects, offered in 13 Indian languages. Candidates have the option to choose up to five subjects. “It is crucial for aspirants to begin their preparation early by familiarising themselves with the syllabus and practising mock tests to enhance their time management skills and overall exam performance,” the official added.
