RML hospital temporarily closes five op theatres for renovations | Delhi News – The Times of India

New Delhi: Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital on Friday temporarily closed five operation theatres (OTs) in its new OT complex for renovation and whitewashing. While the renovations will end on March 31, emergency ophthalmology surgeries will continue in ECS OT III until then. These OTs will be operational only on April 2 following receipt of a negative culture report, said officials.
A culture report evaluates the levels of microbial contamination within the OT environment. It is conducted to maintain sterility and prevent infections at surgical sites.
The closure coincides with three non-working days, including the weekend and Eid holiday, minimising disruption to services. The renovation emerged from a meeting held on March 20, chaired by Dr D S Chauhan, concerning NABH accreditation. tnn
