Shark Tank judge Anupam Mittal on IPL 2025: May be time to ‘replace bowlers with bowling-machines as everything is a …’ – The Times of India

Shark Tank India judge and People Group founder Anupam Mittal recently commented on the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he remarked, “Everything is a wide, no (ball), 4 or 6,” suggesting that the current season heavily favors batsmen over bowlers. He further added, “IPL should just replace bowlers with bowling-machines.”
The IPL 2025 season, the 18th edition of the tournament, commenced on March 22 and is scheduled to conclude on May 25. The opening match featured the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The tournament includes 74 matches played across various cities in India.

How users commented on Anupam Mittal’s post

Commenting on Mittal’s post, one user wrote “Agreed, The Game is completely rigged in the batsman’s favour. No longer a fair contest between Vat and Ball, feels like watching someone play a video game.” “Good idea … that way the Mental Health of the bowlers will also be in check!!,” another user added.
A third user added “it’s boring to see such high scoring games- don’t understand why the IPL doesn’t get that”. “Ap shaddi karvate Karvate Cricket expert kb se ban gaye?,” joked another.
“Check top paid players in 2025 IPL. Half of them are bowlers or bowlers+ somewhat all-rounders,” commented a user.
Recently, Mittal called for leveraging India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to challenge global payment giants like Visa and Mastercard. In an X post, Mittal highlighted how UPI has enabled “global-scale frictionless & costless transactions” in India. He further suggested that it is time to disrupt companies like Visa, Mastercard and even banks that charge transaction fees ranging from 2-5% on a multi-trillion dollar payment industry.
