
New Delhi: Delhi Assembly speaker Vijender Gupta called a meeting on Friday in Vidhan Sabha, during which committees formed to examine the CAG reports will start their work.
After the formation of the new govt in Delhi, eight pending CAG reports were tabled in the assembly. These reports were sent to the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on Public Undertakings of the assembly for further investigation and action, an official said.
During the budget session, new committees were formed, and their chairpersons appointed. According to sources, Delhi’s accountant general (audit), speaker Gupta, deputy speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, public accounts committee chairperson Ajay Mahawar, committee on public undertakings chairperson Gajendra Daral, Delhi chief secretary Dharmendra, and additional chief secretary of the finance department Ashish Chandra Verma will be present at the meeting. A presentation will also be made by the accountant general (audit).
Additionally, a status report on the implementation of the audit para-monitoring system will be presented. Gupta has instructed all departments concerned during the budget session to submit para-wise action-taken notes on the CAG reports and set a deadline for it. In the meeting, officials will also present their action-taken notes on these reports. There will also be a discussion on the further investigation process of these reports.
Legal opinion is also being sought, he said. Chief minister Rekha Gupta has, so far, tabled eight reports. These include reports related to the liquor policy, public health services, pollution caused by vehicles, the functioning of DTC, and two reports related to the financial management of AAP govt.
