New Delhi: Virtual information display (VID) kiosks, which aim to make a passenger’s journey smoother and smarter, have been launched at IGI Airport, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said on Monday. VID kiosks, installed at T1 and T3, will offer real-time flight updates with a simple scan of the boarding pass.
After a passenger arrives at terminals 1 or 3, instead of searching for help or missing a flight update, they can simply visit a virtual assistant ready to guide them through every step of their journey. “With intuitive 3D maps and live location tracking, navigating through the terminal becomes effortless. Passengers can easily find their boarding gate, discover the nearest restaurants, shops or amenities, and explore the airport like never before,” the airport operator stated.
One of the most exciting features of VID kiosks is their 24/7 live video support, DIAL said. If a passenger has a question, needs help, or just feels unsure, VID connects him instantly to a customer service agent via a video call. “Whether it is flight assistance, navigating the terminal or inquiring about services, this direct connection ensures passengers are never left in the dark,” it pointed out.
VID will serve as the ultimate guide to first-time flyers who often face challenges from locating the right gates to understanding airport offerings. Passengers can simply scan their boarding pass and instantly receive flight updates, gate directions and even a downloadable airport map.
DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said, “VID is not just a kiosk, it is a companion designed to redefine how passengers interact with their airport environment. It is another step towards transforming the airport experience, making it simpler, smarter and more seamless for passengers.”
