Goa High Court | PIL for conflict of interest against TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane for using Section 17(2) for using in personal interest to change land zones owned by company of himself and his wife Deviya Rane. HC has issued notices to Rane. This comes after the Goa Bench of Bombay High Court has struck down a section of the Town and Country Planning Act, that allowed the creation of zones within zones, holding that it was concerned with private land owners’ interests. Three citizen organisations had filed a public interest litigations in the HC contending that section 17 (2) of the Act was “mutilating” the Regional Plan. Though NDTV reached out to Rane, the minister has so far declined to comment.
