Video | PM Modi Met Muhammad Yunus On Sidelines Of BIMSTEC Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus have met on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok. This marks their first meeting since Yunus took charge after the ouster of Sheikh Hasina’s government in August last year. The focus remains on the diplomatic tensions over Yunus’ remark calling India’s Northeast ‘landlocked’, suggesting Bangladesh is the region’s “only guardian of the ocean”. His comments sparked sharp reactions in India, with EAM Jaishankar rejecting what he called “cherry-picking cooperation”. The talks come at a critical time, with Bangladesh deepening ties with both China and Pakistan, a development that India has been closely monitoring. NDTV’s Vishal Vivek brings you more.
