Woman dies, four injured as truck hits motorcycle in Mahipalpur | Delhi News – The Times of India

New Delhi: A woman died, while her husband and three daughters were injured after their motorcycle was hit by a truck in southwest Delhi’s Mahipalpur on Monday night. In a separate incident, a 51-year-old man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run case in which a policeman was injured in Mahipalpur.
The family of five was returning home after visiting someone when a truck suddenly struck their bike from behind near a petrol pump on NH-48. The impact caused the motorcycle to lose balance, and all the five family members fell to the ground. The husband and daughters sustained injuries, while the woman suffered severe head trauma and later succumbed to her injuries at AIIMS Trauma Centre.
The deceased was identified as Mamta, 35, a resident of Gurgaon. Her husband, Mandeep, 25, and their three daughters, aged between three and eight, were injured. Mandeep was riding the motorcycle.
In another case, a 51-year-old man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident involving an assistant sub-inspector. The accused was identified as Liyakat Ali, a resident of Mewat, Haryana. The incident occurred on March 29 when Arvind Kumar, who was posted in the traffic unit, was hit by a four-wheeler near the Rangpuri roundabout in Mahipalpur.
