After 10 months, man accused of murder in Shahbad Dairy nabbed | Delhi News – The Times of India

New Delhi: A 19-year-old man was arrested by Delhi police’s crime branch after being on the run for 10 months in connection with the stabbing death of a man in northwest Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy last year.
The runaway suspect, Kshetrapal alias Sagar, is a resident of Shahbad Dairy too. He was arrested near Sunehri Chowk following a tip-off, police said on Saturday.
Police said that on the night of June 30, 2024, Kshetrapal, along with nine others, attacked 28-year-old Sunny. The violence was regarding an old dispute with one of the accused, Ajay alias Modi. “Ajay allegedly slapped Sunny, after which the group beat him up mercilessly. Sunny was then stabbed multiple times and suffered injuries near his private parts and other parts of the body. He was rushed to BSA Hospital in Rohini by relatives but was declared dead on arrival,” DCP (crime) Harsh Indora said.
An FIR was registered at Shahbad Dairy police station under sections 302 (murder), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting with deadly weapons), 149Network (unlawful assembly), 34 (common intention) of the IPC, and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act (illegal possession and use of weapons).
Police said Kshetrapal evaded arrest by frequently changing his location. “A team from the crime branch tracked his movements by monitoring his friends and family and through technical surveillance. Acting on specific intelligence, the team laid a trap and apprehended him,” DCP Indora said.
During interrogation, police said that Kshetrapal confessed that he, along with Ajay, Guddu, Daddu, Chetan, Deepak alias Deepu, Roshan, Prakash, and others, assaulted and stabbed Sunny.
