CBI arrests 2 cops for bribe demand | Delhi News – The Times of India

New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation arrested two Delhi Traffic Police personnel on alleged bribery charges on Saturday.
The officers, Ashok Kumar and Shri Ram Singh, were allegedly caught red-handed while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 in the Vasant Vihar traffic circle area.According to officials, the bribe was allegedly sought to allow a complainant to supply tables for a weekly market. Both the officers have been produced in court, police said.
Three days ago, CBI conducted a raid at Rohini cyber police station and arrested sub-inspector Rahul Malik in connection with another bribery case. The agency alleged that Malik demanded Rs 2.5 lakh through hawala channels involving operators in Mumbai, Erode and Delhi.
The bribe was allegedly sought from a Navi Mumbai businessman to prevent his or his relative’s arrest in a cyber fraud case. Following a complaint, CBI registered a case under Prevention of Corruption Act and BNS.
