Delhi to become model state for Ayush, says health minister – The Times of India

New Delhi: Delhi govt is set to implement the National Ayush Mission (NAM) to enhance and streamline Ayush healthcare services across the city, aiming to turn it into a model Ayush state.
At a review meeting on Tuesday, health minister Pankaj Kumar Singh outlined a detailed strategy for the Ayush sector while meeting senior officials from the Directorate of Ayush and Ayurvedic, Unani, and Homeopathy institutions.
A new ‘Integrated Stress Management Programme‘ incorporating yoga, unani, and homoeopathy will be launched soon to tackle stress-related issues. This programme will offer people techniques to cope with stress, depression, and lifestyle-related ailments using Ayush principles. “These initiatives will empower individuals to lead healthier, more balanced lives, addressing both physical and mental well-being,” said Singh.
The govt plans to establish an advanced Ayush Wellness Centre in Delhi, offering extensive treatments, preventive care, and wellness services. “The Ayush Wellness Centre aims to bring holistic healing closer to the people,” he said, adding, “Delhi will become an ideal model state for Ayush, offering holistic healing and effective treatment for lifestyle disorders, benefiting all citizens.”
Singh indicated that this mission will advance preventive care and comprehensive healing by integrating traditional healthcare systems into the existing healthcare framework.
The health minister issued specific instructions to improve infrastructure in Ayush department colleges, particularly student hostels. Immediate action will commence to upgrade these facilities, ensuring suitable living and learning conditions for Ayush students. Singh also requested hospital staff to maintain hygiene and have a patient-friendly approach.
Medical awareness vans will conduct public outreach programmes in slums and JJ Colonies to extend Ayush benefits. These mobile units will deliver Ayush healthcare services directly to residents with limited access.
