Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s film ‘Loveyapa‘ had released in cinemas on February 7 around Valentine’s day. The film did a below average business at the box office but those who watched it, were left pleasantly surprised as it went above their expectations. A love story which revolved around the idea of this couple exchanging their phones, just before they decide to take the plunge, was a refreshing idea. For those who missed the film in theatres, it’s now begun streaming on OTT from Friday, April 4 onwards.
The film has begun streaming now on JioHotstar. Khushi Kapoor shared the announcement on social media that the film has now begun streaming on OTT. ‘Loveyapa’ produced by Aamir Khan, Madhu Mantena and is directed by Advait Chandan of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ fame.
In an interview with ETimes, Junaid had opened up on what he loved about the film and how he got into the character. He said, “Madhu (Mantena) sir had come to me and said he has the remake rights of this film. The hook of the father that he wants to exchange phones, I loved it. I was a little surprised that they wanted me in the film because I thought the part was very different from me personality wise but I was really excited about it.”
He added, “Advait always gets fantastic performances from his actors in all his films. Even if an actor just has 1-2 scenes in the film, he gets good performances from his actors. So, he really helped to get the ‘sur’ of the film right.”
This is Junaid’s second film after ‘Maharaj’ on OTT and for Khushi as well, this was her second film after ‘The Archies’. The actress was also recently seen in ‘Nadaaniyan’ with Ibrahim Ali Khan.
