NEWD ELHI: Delhi Public School, RK Puram, hosted an event on Friday called “Pi Day Holi Milan,” which combined the elegance of mathematics with the vibrant spirit of Holi. Pi Day, celebrated on March 14, honors the enigmatic constant π (pi), symbolized by the date 3/14.
The event also saw the release of “The Book of Zero Knowledge: In Search of All That There is to Know” by mathematician Anant Mudgal, a recipient of the Ramanujan Research Studentship in mathematics at Trinity College, University of Cambridge.
Mudgal, who has represented India at the International Mathematical Olympiad four times, expressed the desire to create resources that would make math more accessible and appealing to people.
The book, a blend of fiction and mathematics, follows twins Sola and Luna’s quest to unravel complex ideas through dialogue and discovery. Mudgal conducted a session on “Colours of Mathematics,” showcasing the creative beauty of mathematical thought.
Delhi education minister Ashish Sood, chief guest, stressed the importance of innovative learning methods and assured the Delhi government’s commitment to developing education and infrastructure.
DPS, RK Puram principal Anil Kumar highlighted mathematics as a celebration of logical beauty, intricate patterns, and endless possibilities.
