Sachdeva gets security cover upgrade to ‘Z’ | Delhi News – The Times of India

New Delhi: The security cover of Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva was upgraded from ‘Y’ category to ‘Z’ following a threat perception assessment, BJP sources said on Monday. The decision to upgrade Sachdeva’s security was made on April 26 after police assessment of the functionary.
In Z category cover, a security detail of 20 to 22 personnel, including four to six commandos and police personnel will be provided. A pilot vehicle will also accompany Sachdeva’s convoy.
Sources in BJP said that Sachdeva received threats from an accomplice of an opposition MLA who was remanded in police custody in connection with an extortion case registered against him. He mentioned that he received threat calls from this individual.
There are six grades of security cover: X, Y, Y Plus, Z, Z Plus, and the Special Protection Group. tnn
